times. We apologize for the late evenings, but appreciate your
understanding, and will do our best to stay punctual. Please note
the recital order posted on the studio bulletin board and on our
website www.forestdanceacademy.com, be sure to check which show(s)
your child dances in and let the front desk know of any conflicts or
quick changes immediately.
Attire
For barestage rehearsal dancers are to dress as they would to attend
their regular dance class with the appropriate shoes, attire and
hair. Stage make up is not required for barestage rehearsal. For
dress rehearsal and the performances students are to follow their
costume checklists on how to wear their hair and what shoes and
tights are required. Stage make up is to be worn for dress
rehearsal. If you have any questions check with the instructor for
additional information.
Dressing Rooms
A dressing room coordinator will be in the auditorium lobby at
Jefferson Forest High School to direct you to your dressing room at
dress rehearsal, your assigned dressing room will remain the same
for the performances. All students must report to their dressing
room and remain there at all times during the recital. Absolutely no
costumes in the auditorium! No running, loud talking, or
congregating in the hallways, lobby, and backstage area. Respect
school property and do not handle any school equipment! Please do
not use the restrooms for make-up or costume changes; use your
dressing room. Monitors will stay with students in their dressing
rooms until they are finished dancing and a parent comes to pick
them up. Moms are allowed in the dressing room at all times. NO
dads, friends or boyfriends are permitted. Parents please help
remind your child that there will be no gum, jewelry (except if
instructed by the teacher as part of a costume) or nail polish worn.
If you are going to take pictures of your child or class in their
costume please do so before they are lined up to be taken backstage.
Parents, if you must enter or leave the auditorium please do so in
between dances so as to not disturb another dancer’s parents from
viewing their child’s performance, or the dancers on stage
themselves.
Volunteers
We are in need of many volunteers to help out in the dressing rooms.
We cannot do this without your help! Please let us know when you
will be willing to volunteer your time to be responsible for your
dancer’s class until the end of the show. Please look for detailed
information and a sign up sheet in the office for the list of
positions to be filled.

The performances are being professionally recorded therefore there
will be no personal recording devices permitted in the theatre at
